Born in Çanakkale in 1979. He finished his schooling there and, in the same year he graduated from Çanakkale Lisesi in 1996, entered the Gülhane Military Medical Faculty, qualifying as a medical lieutenant in 2002.
His early years were spent in the field. From 2003 to 2005 he served with an internal security battalion in Kars and Muş. In 2005 he began his surgical residency at the GATA Department of General Surgery in Ankara, and after completing the five-year programme he worked as a general surgeon at Çorlu Military Hospital from 2010 to 2013. In 2011 he was posted to the Turkish Battalion Task Force in Kosovo.
In 2013 he took up a subspecialty in war surgery at GATA, qualifying in 2015. Few surgeons in Türkiye hold it. The discipline is built around managing severe, multi-region injury with limited resources and under time pressure — the same habits of planning and sequencing that complex cancer operations demand.
When GATA transferred to the Ministry of Health in 2016, he continued at the General Surgery Clinic of Gülhane Training and Research Hospital. He was appointed to the faculty of Gülhane Medical School in September 2020, was made an associate professor in February 2023, and retired from the Turkish Armed Forces that October at the rank of senior colonel.
Since 2023 he has seen patients at İzmir Cerrahi Merkezi in Konak. He is married with two children.
